VIEWS of Holmfirth are being sought to grace the cover of a new tourist guide.

The tourism team at Kirklees Council is urging photographers to submit their best pictures to them.

If one catches their eye, it may be used on the front of the new guide.

Caroline Morris, the team's marketing officer said: "We distribute 40,000 guides a year to tourists visiting Holmfirth.

"We are now ready to print the new edition of the guide and would love people to send us their suggestions for the front cover.

"Holmfirth is well-known for its connections with TV's Last Of The Summer Wine and the lovely surrounding scenery.

"But it is difficult to capture the town's character in a single photograph.

"That's why we are asking local people to send us their ideas."

The photographs must be portrait, have a resolution of at least 300dpi and be sent electronically as a jpeg file.
